US Pre-Orders Still Available For GTA VI Limited Edition DualSense Controllers, Despite Scalpers
Pre-orders for the two GTA VI-themed DualSense controllers went live September 10th, and while scalpers wasted no time trying to cash in, both are still open for pre-order in the United States if you know where to look!
Yes, that's right! Pre-orders are still available at select retailers in the US, despite scalpers already charging nearly double the recommended retail price. If you missed out or thought the queue was too long, we've got you covered!
Note: This only applies to the US, stock in the UK has since sold out. Other regions may still have availability.
Hectic Launch Day
Even before pre-orders opened, US PlayStation Direct had already thrown customers into a waiting room, and some retailers were marking stock as sold out within minutes. People sat in queues up to an hour long just for a shot at one, and while they waited, scalpers were already listing theirs on eBay for upwards of $150.
PlayStation is fighting back against scalpers, introducing a strict limit of one controller per account. That wasn't always the case though, when pre-orders first went live on PlayStation Direct in the UK and EU, buyers could scoop up as many as five in a single order! There was also a queue bypass, both controllers were briefly showing up on the "Latest" page, and simply hitting "Add to Cart" from there skipped the line entirely. Resellers caught onto it fast, putting up more and more listings until the limit was applied.
Where To Pre-Order?
Despite hundreds of eBay listings, both the White and Black Grand Theft Auto VI Limited Edition DualSense Controllers are available for pre-order through US PlayStation Direct! There is no queue, so you can order without the wait.
I'd recommend sticking with PlayStation Direct if you can, shipping is free. If you're a PlayStation Plus member, you get upgraded to express shipping for no additional cost. That said, the White DualSense is still available at select retailers if PS Direct isn't an option for you.
