Miami Filming Permits Reveal Sports Cars and a Production Called “Vice"
Miami Beach filming permits have revealed plans for sports-car shoots, cinematic driving sequences along Ocean Drive and a commercial production titled “Miami Heat - Vice.” Could it be connected to GTA 6?
The timing is no coincidence. With GTA VI's marketing campaign already underway in Miami, a convoy of GTA VI inspired cars was spotted driving around the city just days ago, with videos and photos spreading across social media. Now, newly reviewed filming permits reveal a production with a lot of vehicles and a very familiar name, and it lines up perfectly with the official Rockstar and Miami Heat partnership.
GTA 6 Wrapped Cars Spotted Across Miami
Between October 15 and 16, a convoy of real life cars styled after vehicles from GTA VI showed up on Miami streets and quickly got people talking online.
The convoy had six recognisable designs inspired by the game: the Manana, Buccaneer, Tempesta, Cheetah, Coquette D10 and Emerus. The cars carried fictional Leonida licence plates, and a Lamborghini styled as a Vice City police vehicle added to the spectacle.
Footage of the cars cruising through Miami and gathering at spots around the city was shared widely on social media. With everything else happening in the city right now, most fans immediately saw it as part of the campaign. Rockstar Games hasn't publicly confirmed it's involved in the vehicle sightings.
A New Production Involves Sports Cars on Ocean Drive
A Miami Beach filming permit lists a production titled “Miami Heat - Vice”, with 305 Films, LLC named as the production company. The permit lists the production type and purpose as a commercial.
That title matters because Rockstar and the Miami Heat officially announced a partnership on October 2. On November 18, the day before GTA VI launches, the Heat host the Milwaukee Bucks at Kaseya Center for “A Night in Vice City,” a nationally televised ESPN game with a custom Vice City court and an all-new uniform. A “Welcome to Vice City” sign has already been lit on the arena roof, and a Vice City collection from the Heat's Court Culture clothing line is on sale now.
Filming was scheduled for October 19 to 20, with October 21 set aside as a rain date. The plans include six picture vehicles, two vans and a camera car fitted with a U-crane.
Several sports cars were due to be filmed parked outside The Avalon and Beacon Hotel on Ocean Drive. Other scenes had vehicles driving along the famous Miami Beach street.
One sequence stands out. On the evening of October 19, between 7:30 PM and 10 PM, a camera car was set to follow a vehicle southbound along Ocean Drive and capture nighttime footage, with the focus on its taillights.
The permit lists an estimated budget of $100,000, with social media as the intended distribution platform.
Videos Show the Camera Car in Action
The permit isn't just paperwork. Videos from October 19 and 20 show a camera car out filming in Miami, which lines up perfectly with the scheduled shoot dates on the permit.
That's a big piece of the puzzle. It means the shoot went ahead as planned, right in the middle of the GTA VI campaign!
It looks like Rockstar are shooting a video with the GTA 6 cars in Miami.

What could they be filming? A music video or some sort of live action trailer?
What do you think?

305 Films Has Worked With the Miami Heat Before
The Heat connection isn't new for this production company. 305 Films has a documented history with the Miami Heat.
The company's director, Gil Green, has worked on past Miami Heat projects, including Heat Nation and Inferno, and the company lists Miami Heat work in its portfolio.
Now put it together. A production listed as a commercial, with the Miami Heat in the name, shot on Ocean Drive with sports cars and “Vice” right in the title, just weeks before A Night in Vice City? It's very hard to see this as anything other than part of the GTA VI and Miami Heat partnership. The permit doesn't name Rockstar, but everything around it does.
Note: This image isn’t from the current shoot. It’s from an earlier Miami Heat video produced by 305 Films.
Another Production Is Simply Called “Vice”
An earlier Miami Beach filming permit lists another production by 305 Films, titled simply “Vice,” and again listed as a commercial.
That one was scheduled for October 5 to 7 and involved a small crew filming B-roll around Ocean Drive, Lummus Park and Muscle Beach. Its estimated budget was $75,000, with distribution planned across streaming, social media, web and other platforms.
Those locations matter. Lummus Park and Muscle Beach are both Vice Beach activation sites in Rockstar's signed agreement with the City of Miami Beach, so this early shoot was happening right where the campaign is being built. It also started just days after the Heat partnership was announced.
This Looks Like Part of the GTA 6 Campaign
Put it all together and the picture is pretty clear. The GTA VI campaign is ongoing in Miami, the Heat partnership is official, wrapped cars are already driving the streets, and now two productions from the same company, both listed as commercials, are using the “Vice” name, shooting sports cars on Ocean Drive and filming at the Vice Beach sites.
Neither permit mentions Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive, and the six cars seen around Miami haven't been officially confirmed to be the same six listed in the permit. We also haven't seen any finished commercial yet.
But with this much lining up, it's safe to say this is almost certainly part of the GTA VI marketing rollout in Miami, and very likely tied to A Night in Vice City on November 18. With about a month until launch, we should see the results soon.
We'll keep an eye out for more details.
