Rockstar Quietly Updates GTA 6 Store Descriptions on XBOX and PlayStation

Rockstar quietly updated the GTA 6 store descriptions on XBOX and PlayStation earlier this month, primarily for the Ultimate Edition of the game, with clearer dates, revised descriptions and a correction to “Macca the Gator”.

The updates we've detected are pretty minor, with each platform receiving its own set of changes to the wording and formatting shown on the store pages.

The changes were discovered by comparing the current store descriptions with archived versions of the pages from earlier this month. The XBOX listing appears to have been updated sometime between August 29 and September 4, while the PlayStation Store listing was changed sometime after September 1.

PlayStation Store Description Changes

Starting with the PlayStation Store, the changes are mainly focused on the wording and formatting of the store description.

Below is a comparison of the PlayStation Store description before and after the update.

Comparing the current listing with the archived version from September 1 reveals several small differences.

The most notable change on the PlayStation side is clarifcation to the pre-order deadline. The previous wording stated that players had to pre-order GTA VI "before November 20" to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+ pre-order bonus.

Now, it has been changed to say the purchase must be made "prior to 19 November 2026 at 23:59:59".

The formatting of the pre-order benefits has also been changed, with the bullet points now replaced by dashes.

XBOX Store Description Changes

Comparing the current listing with the archived version from August 29 reveals several changes to the XBOX store description, including some differences that are not present on the PlayStation listing.

While it still ultimately minor, XBOX Store has recieved more extensive changes than PlayStation.

For starters, just like the PlayStation listing, the XBOX description has had the pre-order deadline clarified and the previous bullet points changed to dashes.

One change exclusive to the XBOX listing is the addition of "Vice City" to the trademark section at the bottom of the page.

"© 1997–2026. Rockstar Games Inc. Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto VI, VI, Vice City, R*, and related logos are trademarks of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. All other marks and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. All rights reserved"

Another change exclusive to the XBOX listing is the addition of a new section of legal text covering the purchase and use of the game:

"Purchase grants a license to the digital product subject to the Terms of Service (“ToS”) and Privacy Policy in game and at www.rockstargames.com/legal and www.rockstargames.com/privacy. Certain game features, content, services, or functions may require internet connection, Rockstar Games account registration (minimum age varies), single-use serial code, additional fees, or unlocking with gameplay, may not be available to all users or at all times, and may be terminated, modified, or offered under different terms in accordance with the ToS. Violation of the ToS may result in restriction or termination of access to game or online account. This game is fictional; any similarities to real-world places, people, or entities is coincidental and does not imply any third-party sponsorship or endorsement of game content. Rockstar Games does not in any way endorse or condone engaging in any conduct depicted in this game."

Lastly, the dashed points in the XBOX listing have also been rewritten to be more concise, with several of the descriptions shortened compared to the previous version.

A small correction for both platforms

Both the XBOX and PlayStation listings also correct a small mistake in the name of Macca the Gator.

Macca was first seen in a screenshot released to promote the Ultimate Edition, where he appears as part of the "Goodtime Gear bonus content". He is a fictional TV Show character from the Goodtime State's hit TV show, "Macca the Gator".

Both store descriptions previously referred to him incorrectly as "Macca the Aligator". This has now been corrected to "Macca the Gator" on both the XBOX and PlayStation listings.
