Rockstar Games Reveal GTA VI Cover Art, Pre-Order On June 25th!
Rockstar Games once again shadow-dropped a major GTA 6 update, revealing the cover art and announcing the game would be available to pre-order on June 25th.
If you'd been following us on X, you'll have seen we noticed the official GTA VI website had a minor update yesterday. While it didn't point towards anything major coming soon, it was certainly notable. Turns out we were right to post about it after all...
Anyway, Rockstar Games have revealed the official cover art for the game in a short video which also seemingly gives us a preview of the main theme music for the game - very Vice City themed with an electric guitar which is apparently composed by an Argentinian musician called Lavrutov - as well as making a fairly major update to their website. Most importantly, they announced pre-orders will open next week on June 25th!
Official Box Art
Rockstar Games were kind enough to send over a hi-res copy of the box artwork.
The official statement on their newswire reads as follows.
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers. Add Grand Theft Auto VI to your wishlist today on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store to get alerted when pre-orders are live.
Check out the official cover art revealed in the video above, and also available as downloadable artwork from the Grand Theft Auto VI site.
More Updates
In addition to the cover art, there's an additional artwork showing Jason and Lucia on the official website which is likely to be used as the thumbnail image for the next trailer, whenever that launches.
There's also a background video which starts with the following image of Vice City's skyline.
Rockstar Games also updated their main homepage with their slider now featuring the preorder message for GTA VI.
They went all in on their social media profiles, changing their Rockstar logo to a blue and pink theme and updating their header background to the new artwork. Their X header is displayed below.
The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that there's actually a new official GTA VI logo, with some subtle differences from the original including a white inner-border.
Still Coming November 19, 2026
Although the release date information was removed from the website, which lead to fears of a potential delay, it turns out the game is still scheduled for release on November 19th. I spotted the date at the end of the cover art reveal video on bilibili which allayed any fears.

Rockstar Games also sent out a Rockstar Propaganda newsletter email to subscribers which again assured us the date hasn't changed.
At the bottom of that newsletter was also a Provisional PEGI 18 rating for the game. I've since been made aware that this isn't new and appeared before Trailer 2 in certain regions, but the details below which I posted on X are still relevant:
Obviously we all know it's going to be rated 18 / adult, however there are no details on the PEGI website yet.
A provisional PEGI rating isn't something a publisher can simply assign themselves. It suggests Rockstar has already submitted materials to PEGI, which may include gameplay footage, scripts, questionnaires, and descriptions of the game's content.
That doesn't necessarily mean PEGI has reviewed a final build of GTA 6, but it does indicate that enough information has been provided for the ratings board to determine that the game falls into the PEGI 18 category.
The full PEGI listing, including content descriptors and reasons for the rating, will likely appear closer to launch.
It's Going To Get Real Busy!
In the next week, along with pre-orders opening, we can fully expect to see:
- Full details of the different game editions (e.g. standard, premium, collectors edition)
- Any bonuses or goodies attached to each edition, including screenshots or photos of any included merchandise
- Pricing for the different editions
- A new trailer which is likely to end with "Pre-Order Now".
New Website Feature: Image Galleries
This new bundle of content has given me a reason to reveal a new feature I've been working on for a little while. Image Galleries are now available at GTAVice.net (and coming soon to iGTA). In our custom galleries, images are grouped into notable subcategories like trailer screencaps, dated screenshot releases and cover art for your viewing pleasure! Check them out for plenty of hi-res artwork images from today's GTA 6 cover reveal.
Let us know if there's anything else you've noticed and stay tuned for all of the latest updates.
Also if any of our loyal readers would like to get involved and help out with the website, either through content creation or just helping to keep track of the latest news as it breaks around the world, please get in touch!
