Reenlisting US Army Troops May Get a 4-Day Pass to Play GTA 6!
A memo circulating online appears to show that a U.S. Army battalion is offering soldiers a special 4-day pass to play GTA 6 as an incentive to reenlist.
Update - August 20
Amazingly, this has now been confirmed as genuine!
CBS News reports that the 9th Brigade Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart, Georgia really is offering eligible soldiers a special four-day pass timed around GTA 6's November 19 launch if they reenlist between August 1 and November 14. Soldiers must reenlist for a minimum of two years and up to six years.
There are useful new numbers, too: Army spokesperson Lt. Col. Angel Tomko told CBS that approximately 130 soldiers are eligible and 20 have already reenlisted under the incentive. He explained: "The idea was to have a unique incentives program that connects to what soldiers are interested in. The command team, in conjunction with the career counselor, wanted to get soldiers excited to reenlist."

The document, dated July 28, was shared by the 1.7M-follower "U.S Army W.T.F! moments" Facebook page and appears to come from the 9th Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart.
It says eligible soldiers who reenlist between August 1 and November 14 will receive a four-day pass intended to coincide with the launch of GTAVI.
We've not been able to independently verify the memo, but some of its details do check out - including the named commanding officer, Lt. Col. Ryan D. Hodgson, who recently took command of the battalion.
Whether it's real or an elaborate prank, there are certainly easier ways to earn some GTA 6 playtime!
