GTA VI Still Coming November 19th With a Physical Release, Marketing to Begin This Summer

Take-Two confirmed GTA VI is still on track to launch later this year, with the game's launch marketing set to begin this summer.

In Take-Two's latest earnings report on the evening of February 3rd, 2026, CEO Strauss Zelnick reassured investors that Grand Theft Auto VI remains on track for its planned November 19th, 2026 release.

Earlier that day, when asked about the release date by IGN, Zelnick sounded confident, stating: "I feel good about it. Very good about it".

We'll politely ignore the fact that he’s said similar things about every previous release date... 👀

He went on to explain the reasoning behind that confidence, adding: "Because any time you're getting closer to marketing beats, you're obviously in a place where your confidence level is as high as it can be."

Zelnick also confirmed that Rockstar Games will begin its launch marketing campaign for Grand Theft Auto VI this summer, further reinforcing the idea that the game is edging closer to completion.

During the call, he stated: "Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer."

Addressing recent speculation, Zelnick dismissed rumours of a digital-only launch, bluntly stating: "That's not the plan." As a result, players can expect GTA VI to launch both physically (on disc) and digitally on November 19th.

He also touched on the topic of artificial intelligence in game development, explaining that AI has existed in games since the industry’s earliest days. While Take-Two continues to adopt new technologies to support developers, Zelnick made it clear that "generative AI has zero part in what Rockstar Games is building".

Expanding on that point, he added: "The video game business, since its inception, was built on the back of machine learning and artificial intelligence. We create our games in computers, with technology, and ever since questions began about generative AI about 18 months ago, I've been incredibly enthusiastic about what the future can bring."

He continued: "As it happens now, we're actively embracing generative AI. We have hundreds of pilots and implementations across our company, including with our studios, and we are seeing opportunities to drive efficiencies, reduce costs, and create the opportunity to do what digital technology has always allowed, which is, mundane tasks become easier and less relevant, which frees up our creators to do the more interesting tasks of making superb entertainment."

All in all, it’s encouraging news for GTA VI fans. If everything stays on track, the game should finally launch in around nine months, with trailers, billboards, and full-scale marketing expected to begin rolling out this summer.

As always, stay tuned for further updates. Based on this latest information, we wouldn’t expect anything official from Rockstar Games until at least May.
