Lana Del Rey, Morgan Wallen and Jeremy Dufrene Host Back Country Radio
One of the most notable announcements is Back Country Radio, a country music station broadcasting across Leonida, including the Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn.
Country superstar Morgan Wallen voices a presenter known as MW, while Lana Del Rey takes on the role of Delta Dawne.
The station also features an unexpected third personality: Lana Del Rey's real-life husband, Jeremy Dufrene, who voices Mud Dog Mike.
Rockstar describes Mike as a roving reporter, swamp meteorologist and Delta Dawne's not-so-secret lover, who provides updates from his airboat in the Grassrivers.
Speaking about her involvement in GTA VI, Lana Del Rey told country music publication Holler that the franchise already holds a special connection to her family.
“One of the coolest things about this is the fact that the first time some of our family got to LA they actually knew the roads because of playing the game.”
“On so many different levels this is super special and a privilege.”
“Can’t wait to get into the game and start playing.”
Morgan Wallen's involvement extends beyond his radio presenting role. The singer has already released Last Thing You Need, an original track from GTA VI: The Album, which debuted at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100.
Rockstar's preview of Back Country Radio includes songs by David Allan Coe, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams Jr. and Waylon Jennings.
Slayer's Tom Araya and Kerry King Take Over The Chamber 106.6
Heavy metal fans will be able to tune into The Chamber 106.6, hosted by Tom Araya and Kerry King of Slayer.
The pair appear under the names DJ Tom and DJ Kerry, presenting a station dedicated to classic heavy metal from the 1980s and beyond.
Speaking to Revolver about their involvement, Araya described the station as:
"a new metal station for players and fans who like it fast and heavy"
"Slayer and GTA’s aggressive and unapologetic style of chaos makes for a whole lot of fun."
He also commented on the similarities between Slayer and the Grand Theft Auto franchise, explaining that their shared aggressive style makes the collaboration particularly fitting.
Kerry King was equally enthusiastic, declaring:
"GTA X Slayer. A true match made in Hell! Let the onslaught begin!"
Rockstar's station preview features three songs:
- Black Sabbath – I
- Pantera – I'm Broken
- Slayer – Raining Blood
Additional Radio Voices Possibly Identified
Although Rockstar has only officially credited Tom Araya and Kerry King as the presenters of The Chamber 106.6, music publications have reported that other familiar radio personalities may also feature on the station.
Metal publication Loudwire identified Caity Babs, known for her work on SiriusXM's Octane and Turbo stations, as a voice heard during Rockstar's preview.
Another name associated with the preview is Shawn the Butcher, a presenter known for his work on SiriusXM's Liquid Metal station.
Neither Caity Babs nor Shawn the Butcher has been officially announced by Rockstar as a GTA VI radio presenter. Their possible involvement is based on identifications and reporting surrounding the preview audio, rather than confirmed character credits.
It remains unclear whether they will appear as additional DJs, guest presenters or in another capacity, and whether other unannounced personalities may be featured throughout the game's radio stations.
Bad Bunny and RaiNao Bring Puerto Rican Music to Cocoteo FM
Cocoteo FM is dedicated to modern Latin music, with genres including bachata, merengue, dembow and reggaeton.
The station is hosted by Bad Bunny, who voices El Martillo, and Puerto Rican singer RaiNao, who appears as La Gata.
Speaking to Pitchfork, RaiNao expressed her excitement about representing Puerto Rican culture in Grand Theft Auto VI.
"Cocoteo gets our vibe, our slang, our taste, our pride, our experiences, our traditions, and all our crazy antics."
"It feels incredibly special to lend my voice to GTA VI and do it in the best way possible: having fun, embodying a character who’s like me, and putting our culture, our music, and our people in the spotlight."
“I was never extreme about video games, but GTA was one of my favorites…. Diving around in a stolen car, blasting music with all that adrenaline pumping was THE VIBE. It’s mind-blowing to know that I’ll now be part of that experience.”
Rockstar's Cocoteo FM preview features songs including:
- Axel Rulay featuring Farruko and El Alfa – Si Es Trucho Es Trucho (Remix)
- Romeo Santos and El Chaval de la Bachata – Canalla
Burna Boy and Palms Trax Present AfroBank FM
AfroBank FM introduces a station dedicated to African music, hosted by Burna Boy and British electronic music producer Palms Trax.
The pair appear as Burna and Palmsy, curating a mixture of African classics, lesser-known recordings and contemporary sounds.
Rockstar says the station will feature genres including amapiano and 3-step, reflecting a broad selection of music from across the continent.
The preview includes:
- Asake – Joha
- Pat Thomas featuring Ebo Taylor – Gye Wan
- DJ Lag and Robot Boii featuring Kamo Mphela – Shay'sana
Robyn and Alex Consani Revive Flash FM
One of Vice City's most recognisable radio station names is returning for GTA VI.
Flash FM will once again provide pop music, this time hosted by Swedish singer Robyn and model Alex Consani.
The station is described by Rockstar as a Vice City institution, promising danceable music for players travelling throughout Leonida.
Its preview includes:
- Charli xcx – Good Ones
- MGMT – Electric Feel
- Zara Larsson and PinkPantheress – Midnight Sun (Girls Trip)
The return of Flash FM continues the station's long history in the series, having previously appeared in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
Trick Daddy and Trina Host Dirty South Classics
Dirty South Classics will focus on regional rap and hip-hop, with Trick Daddy and Trina taking on presenting duties under the in-game names Trick and Trina.
Both artists have strong connections to Miami, making them fitting choices for a station broadcasting throughout the fictional state of Leonida.
Rockstar describes the station as:
"A little southern hospitality from Trick and Trina, blasting regional rap and hip-hop classics. From the beach to the block, nobody reps Leonida and the South like they do."
Trick Daddy and Trina are both well-established figures in Southern hip-hop, with careers closely associated with Miami's music scene. Their involvement brings two recognisable local voices to GTA VI's fictional interpretation of South Florida.
Songs featured in the station's preview include:
- David Banner featuring Lil' Flip – Like A Pimp
- JT Money featuring Solé – Who Dat
- DJ Khaled featuring Trick Daddy, Rick Ross and Pitbull – Born N Raised
Radio, Podcasts and Music Available Outside Vehicles
Alongside the six radio stations, Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will feature its first collection of on-demand podcasts.
Players will be able to listen to both radio stations and podcasts while travelling in vehicles, but the experience will no longer be limited to driving.
Using headphones or earbuds connected to their in-game smartphones, Jason and Lucia will also be able to listen to music and podcasts while exploring Leonida on foot.
Rockstar says GTA VI will feature the largest and most varied collection of in-game radio and podcasts in the series to date, with further stations expected beyond the six revealed so far.
The radio announcements also build on the previously unveiled GTA VI: The Album, which features original music from artists including Morgan Wallen, Travis Scott, Future, Yung Lean and PinkPantheress.
The six radio station previews are available to listen to now through Rockstar's official GTA VI music website.
