GTA 6 Extended Look Tops Netflix Worldwide With 31.1 Million Views
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look attracted 31.1 million views on Netflix, topping the English Films chart and reaching #1 in 87 countries worldwide.
Netflix has revealed that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look recorded 31.1 million views during the week beginning August 24, placing it at number one on the company's global English Films chart.
The GTA 6 presentation also reached number one in 87 of the 93 countries tracked by Netflix worldwide, highlighting the enormous international interest surrounding Rockstar Games' upcoming release.
GTA 6 dominates Netflix's global rankings
Rockstar's 27-minute extended look premiered on Netflix on August 27 in what Netflix describes as a "first-of-its-kind" premiere for the streaming service.
Its 31.1 million views comfortably placed it ahead of the week's second most-watched English-language film, The Whisper Man, which recorded 23.2 million views.
The presentation was captured entirely using in-game footage running on PlayStation 5 and provided the most extensive official look at GTA 6 so far.
Netflix previously said that the extended presentation was available globally to subscribers, with subtitles offered across a wide range of languages.
A major audience beyond traditional game trailers
The figures provide another indication of the extraordinary level of mainstream interest surrounding GTA 6, particularly given that the extended look was essentially a promotional presentation for a video game rather than a conventional Netflix movie or television production.
Netflix itself placed GTA 6 at the centre of its weekly Top 10 announcement, confirming that the presentation had outperformed every other English-language film on the service during its debut week.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
